Topiary Care

A healthy plant is less susceptible to heat stress, disease and pests.

• Water regularly, particularly during the heat of summer. Avoid soil water-logging.
• Feed with slow release fertilizer in Spring and Autumn.
• Trim lightly Dec/Jan and then slightly harder June/July (this will enable a good growth flush Aug/Sep/Oct.
• For a potted topiary to continue to grow larger then re-pot to a larger size every 2/3 years.
• Avoid placing plant where exposed to continual strong winds.
• Spray for spiders and bugs as required (eg. Yates Super Shield).
• Spray for fungus each 6 months (eg. Blue Shield copper).
• Spray for 'Scale' inside the branches each 6 months (eg. Yates Conqueror Oil).
